Dr. West recently spoke with Tim Darnell of News radio 1067 (WYAY-FM) about his crowdfunding campaign for endangered species preservation.
He discussed how skin samples can be taken from such animal sources, and then be turned into a stem cell, which can subsequently develop into a sperm cell. Using such techniques in the lab can lead to the preservation of genetic material of these animals that may otherwise be lost, as well as breed healthier animals.
