Neil Doshi, an undergraduate member of the West Lab,  will be interning as a Volunteer Affairs Intern with an organization called MEDLIFE in Lima, Peru for 3 months. The organization focuses on increasing access to medicine, education, and development for low income families everywhere. In order to accomplish this mission, MEDLIFE arranges mobile clinics and development projects, such as the building of stair cases and schools for communities, around the globe in countries such as Peru, Nicaragua, and Tanzania with the aid of volunteers and chapters. As a Volunteer Affairs Intern, Neil will have various responsibilities such as helping coordinate and lead these mobile clinics/development projects, facilitating MED presentations for volunteers, visiting patients in follow-up visits, and visiting communities to observe project progress and attend community meetings. He will be also help manage MEDLIFE chapters and create advocacy/educational materials targeted towards student involvement for chapters.
