Charlize “Charlie” Nakatsu

Ph.D. Student

Charlie is a PhD student in the Neuroscience Program studying the effects of Non-Ionizing Electromagnetic Radiation Emissions (NIEMRE) on the human neural network.

Charlie’s research focuses on evaluating how NIEMRE effects neural network electrical signaling, cellular kinetics and neuronal/glial function utilizing a human cell-based complex neural network culture system. Charlie graduated with a BSA in Biological Science and a minor in Biology from the University of Georgia in May of 2023.

When Charlie is away from the lab, she can be found enjoying Athens with her friends or back in her hometown of Greenville, SC spending time with her family.
