Madison earned her neuroscience PhD in the West and Duberstein Labs in 2022. Madison received a BS in Animal Science from North Carolina State University in 2015 and a MS in Animal Science with a focus on Equine Nutrition from University of Georgia in 2018.
Her PhD work has mainly focused on porcine neuro injury models. Specifically, Madison has investigated functional recovery in a porcine stroke model via gait and behavior analysis. More recently, she began studying the effects of gut microbial transplant as a therapeutic for traumatic brain injury in a porcine model. Outside of the lab, Madison loves to travel and spend time with her husband Zac, and two dogs, Sadie and Sullivan.
