Morgane Golan

Morgane is a PhD Candidate whose research in the lab and the classroom are unified by the overarching goal of enhancing accessibility to regenerative medicine. Her research in the Stice Lab focuses on translating stem cell-derived extracellular vesicle therapies from the lab bench to the bedside. As Dr. West’s TA, Morgane is also conducting discipline-based education research (DBER) in the Animal Biotechnology course, ADSC 3130. Her study evaluates the impact of active learning strategies on students’ academic self-efficacy and learning outcome achievement, with implications for student retention and success in the Regenerative Bioscience major for undergraduate students. Morgane and Dr. West are among the first researchers in the field of regenerative medicine to investigate the effect of evidence-based teaching practices at the undergraduate level. Good pedagogy is vital to developing the workforce that innovates and administers regenerative therapies! Morgane is also actively involved with the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) community at UGA. She is pursuing the CTL GradTeach Certificate and was awarded an Outstanding TA Award in 2023. Beyond her research interests, Morgane is also an avid reader, plays lots of board games, builds puzzles, and enjoys spending her free time with her husband and animals!
